I love South East Asian regional cuisine, and particularly like Japanese, regional Chinese, and Thai. The lovely Italian and French flavours are also well liked.

I don’t like Portuguese cuisine that much, and hate waking up before my seven hours of sleep!!!

I like to cooking for friends and love being with my kids.

I believe in Karma and the theory of input = output . If you work hard then you get the rewards, and work honestly and sincerely.

I enjoy being creative and developing new dishes, conceptualising new designs and making them into reality! Creativity is just wonderful, whether in the kitchen or on the drawing board!!

I am addicted to Krispy Kreme doughnuts, After Eights mints, and Singapore noodles.

My 4am friend is soft pillow, and dream land…. I’m in REM sleep…

My first experiment in the kitchen was when I was 12-years-old in Toronto, Canada, and I made herb and cheese omlettes for my brother and sister and charged them 25 cents each! They loved it so much that it became a regular weekend feature where I made breakfast for the family, and charged them $1.50!!!

I have never compromised on my principles and work hard toward my goals!!!

One piece of advice for someone interested in taking up cooking as a career is that there are great rewards and satisfaction in the trade, but it’s bloody hard work! So you need to be geared up for working weekends, unsociable hours, and grinding your way to success!!!

Three things that I can never be without: My kids, my laptop and my knives.

The one time I goofed up cooking was when we were doing a big wedding event and the bride specifically asked us to prepare two dishes for Vegans (her parents!!!), but I forgot. I then had to improvise on the spot and ran to the nearest shop to get vegan ingredients and prepared it on time!!!
